PRESS RELEASE - FRIDAY 11TH FEBRUARY

PRESCOTT HISTORIQUE TAKES A NOSTALIGIC BLAST UP THE HILL IN 2022

The Bugatti Owners’ Club, owners and operators of Prescott Speed Hill Climb, have announced a brand-new event for the 2022 season; Prescott Historique.

Taking place on Saturday 28th May, this new headline event will showcase nine decades of hill climbing, welcoming cars and bikes from the early 1900s right up to 1990.

The Paddock will feature a spell-binding mixture of Edwardian, Vintage, PVT, Historic and Classic Cars with everything from an Austin 7 to a Mallock single-seater and everything in between. This competitive event is also the third round of the 2022 Fassi Classic Speed Championship, which is the largest classic hill climb championship in the UK.

Sir Stirling Moss started his hill climbing career at Prescott in May 1948. During Prescott Historique we will pay tribute to Sir Stirling with a special parade of F3 500 Kiefts, which are similar to the car he originally competed in at Prescott. These cars will also be displayed within the Paddock, alongside other special ‘Stirling’ cars which will be announced in due course.

Prescott Historique will not only celebrate the cars and drivers that have defined our sport, but also the engineers who have developed these wonderful machines, having teamed up with The Association of Heritage Engineers. A special heritage engineering zone has been created where visitors will be able to meet and chat to a number of sustainable skills network ambassadors from the AoHE, with the backdrop of the wonderful Piccard Pictet Sterlevant Special from 1913/18, which will be on display.

We are thrilled to be welcoming Dom Chinea from the BBC’s Repair Shop, Marc Allum from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow and Sarah Crabtree from Bangers and Cash fame, who are all AoHE sustainable skills network ambassadors. Expect to find them wondering around the paddock, being interviewed by our expert commentators and signing autographs at ‘meet and greets’.

Over in The Orchard, we are creating a special classic car clubs’ zone, where clubs specialising in pre-1990 cars are invited to join us and display their cars, promote their club and celebrate their marque in style.

We also welcome the National Hill Climb Association for bikes, who will be joining us with the Classic Class, featuring classic machines from the halcyon days of motorcycling. Within this class you will find post-war to 1970s machines offering a nostalgic and competitive blast up the famous hill.

This event is truly unmissable for the historic car and bike enthusiast.

Entries, Spectator Tickets and Car Club Display bookings are available through the Club’s website www.prescotthillclimb.co.uk or by calling 01242 673136.
